If you are looking to visit Toronto but are unsure what to do, see, eat or drink, then this is a local’s guide/itinerary on how to spend a day in this city. This 1-Day Toronto Itinerary is good all year round and it includes the best sights in town in one concentrated area. Regardless of the weather, these sights will be available for you to enjoy in any season. This itinerary is a bit general, but it works as a great starting point for your travels that you can personalize however you like. I calculated this route myself based on my personal experience walking and living in this city and what I think is do-able and most efficient for your short timeframe. It’s an ambitious plan that covers a lot and really is for the eager beaver, but if you are only here for one day then I’m sure you would want to make the most of it! I think the best way to explore is by foot, but you are more than welcome to use the TTC streetcars, buses or subway, especially when you get tired.
Toronto has features such as tall glass buildings, skyscrapers, and crowds of people that are similar to other North American cities, but there are hidden gems in the urban jungle if you know where to look. In this itinerary, you will find unique food and drink experiences, neighbourhoods with a distinct personality, world-class attractions, and entertainment that caters to a host of travellers. There are 12 stops that will take you out all day from 9AM to 10PM. These stops include Yorkville, the ROM, Kensington Market, Chinatown, Graffiti Alley, the CN Tower, Harbourfront Centre, Sugar Beach, St. Lawrence Market, Distillery District, Nathan Phillips Square and Yonge-Dundas Square. Take a look on my website to find more things to do, eat and drink, but don’t forget to add seasonal events and festivals to your day which you can find on websites like BlogTO, Narcity, City of Toronto, Now Toronto, See Toronto Now, and Eventbrite.
If you like what you see, consider spending more than one day here!
