Chinatown: Hong Kong Egg Waffles at Dragon City Mall

Dragon City Mall at Dundas and Spadina is a staple landmark in Chinatown that is a culturally significant place for the Chinese-Canadian community. There are a variety of businesses inside this mall, but hands down the best part of the mall is the egg waffle stand. This egg waffle stand has been here for as long as I can remember. I’m not sure why, but since I was a kid I called the egg waffles “dragon puffs” and it has stuck with me ever since. It might have something to do with it being located at Dragon City Mall. The aroma of the freshly made waffles hits you as soon as you open the door and you won’t be able to resist getting this treat for yourself. It just costs $3.50 for one piece – a price you won’t be able to find anywhere else! Although they sell just one item here, this business is booming.

The next time you’re in Chinatown, head to 280 Spadina Ave to taste it yourself!

Ta-da! The delicious, plain and simple golden egg waffle. Each little puff is a little crispy on the outside, and hot and steamy on the inside. Enjoy!
